Examination Wing: A Beacon of Academic Excellence

The Examination Wing plays a crucial role in the administration and management of examinations for its various undergraduate, postgraduate, doctorate, diploma, and certificate programmes. Here's an overview of its key functions:

  1. Conduct Section: The Examination Wing organizes and conducts semester and annual exams for all affiliated colleges and departments. It oversees the preparation and distribution of question papers to ensure smooth conduct of exams across multiple centers. The Secrecy and confidentiality is the prime concern of this section.

  2. Result Section: After the completion of exams, the Section coordinates the evaluation process and declares results online through DU’s result portal. It ensures timely and accurate publication of results for all programs including publishing of online marksheets.

  1. Revaluation Section: Students who are unsatisfied with their results can apply for revaluation or rechecking of answer scripts depending on the course. The Examination Wing facilitates this process by giving them a window for a given period of time.

  2. Degree Section & Transcript Section: The Section is responsible for the issuance of provisional certificates, degrees, and other official academic documents like mark sheets and transcripts including online degrees. Duplicate certificates can also be issued on request through proper procedures.

  3. Grievance Redressal: The Examination Wing provides a platform for students to raise request of grievances related to examination processes, errors in mark sheets, or other academic discrepancies. The examination department has section wise windows to accept such requests. A new grievances redressal Portal named eGRASS (Examination grievances redressal & Support System) has been started for quick resolution of queries of students and making examination branch accountable.

  4. Technology and Online Services: In recent years, DU has embraced digital solutions for the examination process. Online portals are used for examination form submissions, admit cards, and the declaration of results.

  5. Coordination with Colleges: The Examination Wing collaborates closely with individual DU colleges to ensure that examination schedules, internal assessments, and practical exams are managed efficiently. Normally award 14 Central Evaluation Centres are established in the colleges for evaluation of answer scripts subject wise.

  6. Handling Examination-related Policies: The wing is also involved in updating and implementing examination policies, such as the introduction of open book examinations (OBE) during the pandemic and handling situations like exam postponements.

It operates under the leadership of the Controller of Examinations, supported by various officials responsible for scheduling, conducting, and maintaining the integrity of the exam process. Here is a testimonial of a alumni of 1975 batch completed her DCH from University of Delhi.
